Documents worth extra attention
- CUAET is closed to new applications, and the CUAET-linked PR pathway closed to new applications on 22 October 2024. If you are already in Canada under those measures, your route is usually a permit extension (available until 31 March 2027) or a regular immigration program, each with its own document list.
- Ukrainian civil documents typically need a certified English or French translation attached to the original.
- Family sponsorship applicants should keep evidence organized chronologically, especially where travel and status changes since 2022 need explaining.

Can I still apply under CUAET?
No. CUAET stopped accepting new applications on 15 July 2023, and the linked permanent residence pathway closed to new applications on 22 October 2024. Ukrainians already in Canada under these measures can extend open work and study permits until 31 March 2027, and regular immigration programs remain open to everyone.
